- News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM’S John DePetro; host of the WPRO Morning News appeared at Tim Horton’s, 10 Dorrance St. in Providence on June 2nd, 2010 to support Tim Hortons Annual, “Camp Day.’” Camp Day is the one day each year when every penny from coffee sales at Tim Hortons stores across Canada and the United States will be donated to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. Having John DePetro on-site created heavy foot traffic for Tim Horton’s, especially during the 11am-noon hour! On-site WPRO had listeners win prizes like PawSox tickets and an enter-to-win box for a Toshiba Netbook provided by Tim Hortons!

2009 RIBA Scholarship Winners - Erika Sloan of URI and Ryan Casey of CCRI are both recipients of the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association 2009 Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded to students who intern at local media outlets. Both Ryan and Erika received $1,000 from RIBA through their internships @ News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM. Erika was an intern with John DePetro & the WPRO Morning News and Ryan was an intern with The Buddy Cianci Show during the spring semester of 2009.

Host of the Amazing Women program heard weekly on WPRO, Deb Ruggerio, was the hostess of the event that was attended by some of Rhode Island's most amazing women such as LT. Gov Elizabeth Roberts! WPRO'S Mother's Day Brunch 2009 - News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM was happy to honor mom on Mother's Day on May 10th for our (almost!) annual Mother's Day Brunch at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet! It was a fabulous day with catering by Russel Morin's Fine Catering and hosted by WPRO's, "main mama" Tara Granahan! The brunch was the setting of our, "Extreme Makeover: Mother's Day Edition" contest in which one lucky mom was set to walk away with a $500 gift card to Kenneth Cote Renewal Center, a one year Gold's Gym membership and at-home meals provided by Easy Entertaining! We had our entire brunch chant, "Move that Brush" revealing our winner was Rebecca Ibarra of North Providence! The other moms did not go home empty handed though; winning Penn & Teller and Gloria Estefan tickets and movie passes!

2009 Hasbro Children's Hospital Radiothon - News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM was proud to support the 2009 Hasbro Children's Radiothon! March 26th, March 27th & March 29th were days spent broadcasting from both Hasbro Children's Hospital and the Warwick Mall learning about the corageous children and strong families who have dealt with unfortunate circumstances. They each told their amazing stories about how Hasbro has had such an impact on their lives. Overall, WPRO and the three other Citadel Providence Broadcasting stations that participated in the radiothon raised about $415,000 for the kids and familys at Hasbro Children's Hospital!

URI Blue Out! - On Thursday January 15th, the WPRO News Talk Team headed down to The University of Rhode Island to watch them take on there A-10 rivals Xavier and participate in there "Blue Out". The whole crowd dressed in "Keany Blue" and cheered there favorite team on! Scott Cordischi was there to greet the crowd while the Talk Team played games and gave prizes away to the crowd!
